Brazilian wax FAQ

Before you book

How much is a Brazilian wax in Rocky Hill, CT?

A Brazilian wax at The Guest House is $80. A Brazilian plus underarm wax is $100. Brazilian waxes paired with a corrective skincare treatment run $110 to $160.

New clients can book a Brazilian for $49 from October 8 to November 8, 2026.

How long does a Brazilian wax last?

Most clients stay smooth for 4 to 6 weeks. We recommend booking every 4 to 6 weeks so hair stays on a consistent growth cycle, which usually makes each wax quicker and more comfortable.

Does a Brazilian wax hurt?

You will feel some discomfort, mostly on a first visit. We use an all-natural wax made for sensitive skin and work quickly. Many first-time clients tell us it hurt less than they expected, and it usually gets easier with regular appointments. Numbing cream can be added to the Brightening and Illuminating treatment.

What is the difference between a Brazilian and a bikini wax?

A bikini wax removes hair from the front only. A Brazilian removes hair from the front and the back. A bikini line wax removes only the hair that shows outside your underwear.

Is The Guest House good for a first-time Brazilian wax?

Yes. We walk you through each step before we start, keep the visit private and professional, and work quickly. First-time clients regularly mention in reviews that it was easier than they expected.

How should I prepare for my wax?

Let hair grow to about a quarter inch, roughly the length of a grain of rice. Shower, skip lotions and oils on the area that day, and wear loose, breathable clothing. Avoid exfoliating, tanning and retinoid products on the area for a couple of days before.

What should I do after a Brazilian wax?

For 24 to 48 hours, skip hot tubs, saunas, heavy workouts, tight clothing and fragranced products on the area. After that, exfoliate gently a few times a week and keep the skin moisturized to help prevent ingrown hairs.

How do you treat ingrown hairs after waxing?

We treat ingrown hairs in the studio with extractions, high frequency and hydrating or brightening treatments, and we show you how to care for the area at home. Good options are the Brazilian Wax + Skin Like Glass Treatment ($125), the Brazilian Wax + Brightening and Illuminating Treatment ($135), or The Hooded Lady Vajacial ($65) between waxes.
